- Food is meant to be enjoyed.
Unless you enjoy $8 hot dogs that are barely better than the cafeteria at your old high school, eating off site is a must. I remember one convention in San Jose where this was evident. On Friday my wife and I were eating this “food” inside the convention, then on Saturday night my wife and I decided to walk around after the convention looking for local food places instead.
Within a 10 minute walk radius we found great unique local spots for burgers, dim sum, ice cream, ramen, sushi, pizza, and more. All of this food was at comparable prices to what was in the convention hall itself and ALL of it was orders of magnitude better than the “World’s best hot dogs” available on site.
Get any free crowd source review app you trust (yelp, urban spoon) and venture forth from the hall when you are feeling peckish.
