Computer Hardware: To Buy or Not to Buy

If you’re in the market to buy new computer hardware today (5/10/16) I would recommend that you do WAIT. Why, because as it sits today, NVIDIA just announced the new 1070 / 1080 GPU’s hitting the shelves by the end of the month.  Price to performance from everything we have seen so far shows that the new 1080 is a beast and will out preform two GTX 980 in SLI.  Now benchmarks have not officially come out, but at a price point of $700 for 1080 Founders addition card and $600 for partner cards that can out preform two cards $700 for both, that is a good reason to wait a few weeks.  *information and details based on the time that this article was written.

If all this is still intimidating and you are knew to this market, my recommendation is to study.  Get on  YouTube and subscribe the guys I mentioned above.  Learn what is current, what is just hype and what the best price to performance hardware available is.  Take your time.  The best and worst part of being a PC enthusiast is that there is always improvements in computer hardware coming soon, so you never really miss out by waiting.  I know this comes across as I am saying don’t do it, but do it…it always comes down to this: really think about what you want the machine to do and build accordingly, use your budget wisely.  Remember that 40% of your over all budget ‘should’ be put towards your GPU, items like memory (8 gb is more than enough for today’s ‘Triple A’ titles) and massive storage is not as critical with gaming rigs.  An SSD is a must in my opinion only because I use SSD, but honestly you can game and get the same FPS with mechanical storage.  Are you going to overclock?  If not then you can go with more modest price Motherboard and CPU cooling solutions.  I can’t stress this enough… the end do your research!

Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time selecting
    between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and
I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Sorry for being
off-topic but I had to ask!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?
